Tarn Taran (The Uttam Hindu): The Election Commission of India on Monday officially announced the dates for the by-election to the Tarn Taran Assembly seat in Punjab. According to the schedule released by the commission, voting for the seat will take place on November 11, and votes will be counted on November 14.

With the announcement of this by-election, the Model Code of Conduct has come into effect immediately in Tarn Taran district. It is worth noting that this seat fell vacant nearly three months ago due to the sudden demise of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Kashmir Singh Sohal, necessitating this by-election.

A striking feature of this election is that all major political parties, including the Aam Aadmi Party, Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal, and BJP, had already announced their candidates before the dates were announced. This clearly indicates that all parties are already gearing up to win this seat, and a fierce contest is expected in the coming days.
