Tarn Taran By-Election: SSP Ravjot Kaur Grewal suspended amidst EC's pledge for impartial polls

Tarn Taran (The Uttam Hindu): The Election Commission has taken a major step ahead of the Tarn Taran by-election. In order to ensure a free and fair election, the Commission has suspended Tarn Taran SSP Ravjot Kaur Grewal. This action is aimed at preventing any irregularities and potential bias before the election.

According to sources, the Election Commission has made this decision from the perspective of local governance and security. Following the suspension of SSP Ravjot Kaur Grewal, an additional deputy commissioner of police has been appointed as the regional in-charge. It should be noted that 15 days ago, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) filed a complaint with the state's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Sibin C, against SSP Dr. Ravjot Kaur Grewal. In the complaint, Dr. Ravjot Kaur Grewal was accused of acting as a puppet of the Aam Aadmi Party and filing false cases against Akali Dal workers.
