Tragic accident: Scorpio crashes into shop, youth who came to buy milk dies; occupants were drunk

Moga (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic road accident occurred late Wednesday night in Dhhaleke village, where an out-of-control Scorpio rammed into a grocery shop built inside a house, leading to the death of a 22-year-old youth. The entire incident was captured on CCTV.

The victim, Sukhveer Singh, had come to the shop around 10 pm to buy milk when the speeding vehicle lost control, hit him, entered the shop, and overturned. At the time of the accident, five youths were reportedly inside the vehicle. After the crash, four of them fled the scene, while one was caught by locals and handed over to the police.

According to information, the youths travelling in the vehicle were under the influence of alcohol. The detained youth is said to be a resident of Khosha Randhir village. The victim’s brother, Lakhbir Singh, stated that Sukhveer worked at a salon. He was married and is survived by his three-year-old son. Sukhveer died on the way to the hospital due to severe injuries.

Shop owner Rajkumar said the incident happened suddenly, with the vehicle directly crashing into the shop. Other people were present nearby at the time, but they escaped without serious injuries. Police have begun an investigation and said the remaining accused will be arrested soon. The victim’s family has demanded strict action and justice.
