Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): In a major success ahead of the festive season, Punjab Police’s counter-intelligence team apprehended two terrorists in Jalandhar and seized approximately 2.5 kilograms of RDX along with a remote control device. The arrested individuals have been identified as Gurjinder Singh and Diwan Singh. Preliminary investigations suggest that the explosives were being prepared for a major terrorist attack.

Sources indicate that the recovered RDX was smuggled into Punjab through networks linked to Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI. Authorities believe the terrorists were plotting to create unrest in the state during the festival period, but timely intervention by security agencies thwarted their plans.

Further investigation revealed that the arrested individuals were connected to a module of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), which was being directed by UK-based handlers, including Nishan. The operatives reportedly received instructions from notorious BKI terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda.

Police have confiscated the explosives and the remote control device recovered from Jalandhar. The counter-intelligence team is working to identify potential targets in Punjab. A case has been registered at the SSOC Police Station in Amritsar under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Explosives Act.
