Uncle enters home on excuse of seeking water, assaults niece when she is alone; escapes after alarm, case filed

Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): A shameful incident has come to light in the Thana No. 2 area of Jalandhar, which has tarnished blood relations. Here, a wicked uncle tried to make his own niece a victim of his lust. In a complaint given to the police, a BA student has said that her uncle, finding her alone at home, forced himself on her and committed obscene acts. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the police have registered a case against the accused uncle Gurvinder Pal Singh and police teams are continuously conducting raids to arrest him.
According to the information given by the victim to the police, on Monday her parents had gone to her grandmother's house, due to which she was alone at home. Taking advantage of this, her uncle arrived at the house at around seven in the evening. Upon opening the door, the accused first asked about the well-being of the family and then asked for water to drink. The student alleges that as soon as she turned inside to get water, the accused took the opportunity and closed the door of the room. He grabbed his niece and started trying to force himself on her.
During this time, the student showed courage and protested and started shouting loudly. Hearing the student's strong protest and noise, the accused got scared and ran away from the spot. The limit was crossed when, to hide his evil act, the accused played a cunning trick. After running away, he called the student's mother and started saying bad things, questioning the girl's character, so that he could save himself. But when the parents returned home, the frightened daughter told the whole truth while crying.
Upon learning the truth, the family immediately contacted the police. Station House Officer Jaswinder Singh, who is in charge of Station No. 2, confirmed the incident and said that a case has been registered against the accused, Gurvinder Pal Singh, based on the student's statement. Police say the accused is currently absconding and changing his location, but he will soon be behind bars.
