Vande Bharat's priority sparks fury: Passengers block railway track at station

Bathinda (The Uttam Hindu): Passengers blocked the track at Goniana railway station near Bathinda, protesting the delay in their train's departure, which they blamed on the Vande Bharat train's schedule. The protesters, who travel daily from faraway places to Bathinda for work, claimed that their train is routinely delayed to accommodate the Vande Bharat, causing them to reach their destinations late.
The situation escalated when the protesters sat on the track, forcing the Vande Bharat to be stopped. The RPF and police forces from Bathinda and Kotkapura intervened and removed the protesters from the track. The passenger train was then given priority, followed by the Vande Bharat, which departed with a 17-minute delay.
The authorities have announced plans to take strict action against the protesters, identifying those involved through a viral video.
