BHAGWANT SINGH MANN REVIEWS ONGOING PROCUREMENT OPERATION IN THE STATE
VOWS TO PURCHASE AND LIFT EVERY SINGLE GRAIN OF THE FARMERS

Asserting that farmers have never faced any problem in selling their grain during the last three years, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday said that like previous years, the state government will repeat the history of smooth, hassle free and timely procurement of the paddy in the state.
Reviewing the ongoing paddy procurement in the state during a meeting held here today, the Chief Minister said that all out efforts have been made to ensure smooth, hassle free and quick procurement of paddy on one hand and facilitate the farmers in getting timely payment of their produce on the other. He categorically said that farmers of the state should not face any inconvenience for the sale of their produce in the mandis. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the procurement of paddy has started from September 15 and elaborate arrangements have already been made for the procurement of 175 LMT of grains.
Batting for hassle free and seamless procurement of paddy, the Chief Minister said that every grain produced with the sweat and toil of the Punjabi farmer shall be purchased adding he warned that strict action will be taken against the officials if the farmer is put to any sort of inconvenience. He directed the state procurement agencies to be fully geared up for procurement of Paddy in the ongoing season adding that Punjab Mandi Board had notified 1822 regular Purchase Centers for procurement of paddy in KMS 2025-26. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that all the notified mandis have been allotted by the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Punjab adding he urged the farmers to bring their produce in the mandis only after drying as the high moisture content causes unnecessary delay in drying the crop which is time consuming.
Reiterating the firm commitment of the state government to procure every single grain of paddy, the Chief Minister said that he will be personally monitoring the entire procurement process to ensure that farmers do not face any sort of inconvenience. He said that the state government has taken path breaking initiatives to ensure smooth, hassle free and transparent procurement of grains in the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that no stone will be left unturned to facilitate the farmers by ensuring foolproof procurement at micro level.
The Chief Minister emphasized the need for smooth and hassle free procurement and lifting of the paddy during the ongoing procurement season, from the grain markets across the state. He said that every single grain of the farmers will be procured and lifted without any sort of delay. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the procurement process will be completed without any sort of inconvenience to the farmers.
