
Abohar (The Uttam Hindu) : A case of the brutal murder of a young woman has come to light in a hotel near the Truck Union on Malot Road in Abohar, Fazilka district. The young woman's blood-soaked body was recovered from a hotel room. Preliminary investigation revealed that the woman's neck had been slit with a sharp weapon.
According to hotel staff, the woman had come to the hotel with her boyfriend. After staying in the room for a while, the man pretended to order food from Zomato and left the hotel, but never returned. Hotel staff became suspicious when there was no activity in the room until around 7 p.m. When no response was received despite knocking on the door, the room was opened with a master key, where the woman's body was found.
The body was reportedly half-naked and blindfolded. There was a large amount of blood on the floor of the room. The police were immediately informed of the incident.
According to the police, the deceased's name is being identified as Aarti. Her age is believed to be around 18 years old, although her age is still being confirmed. The station in-charge says that if the investigation reveals the woman to be a minor, strict action will be taken against the hotel management.
The deceased was a resident of Kanpur
Police said the woman was originally from Kanpur district in Uttar Pradesh. Her father had been working at a cow shelter near Shaheed Major Surinder Singh Chowk in Abohar for many years. The young man who accompanied the woman to the hotel was identified as Sachin (22), a resident of Kui Kheda village.
According to sources, the youth has been taken into custody, while the police say that the process of tracing and catching him is underway.
