Woman kidnapped, raped in car by group in Jalandhar; 3 accused in custody

Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): Police from Station 8 have arrested three accused in the case of kidnapping and raping a girl in a car. The arrested accused have been identified as Jagjit Singh alias Jagga, resident of Goindwal Sahib, Karan Mehra, resident of Baldev Nagar, and Arjun, resident of Upkar Nagar. Police also recovered the car used at the scene from the accused's possession.

Giving details of the case, police station in-charge Sahil Chaudhary said that on April 28th, a report was received from the Civil Hospital that a young woman had been abducted and raped by some youths in a car. A police team then arrived at the Civil Hospital and recorded the victim's statement. In her statement, the victim accused five to six individuals, including a man named Jagga, of raping her.

The victim alleged that Jagjit, along with his friends, forcibly took her into a car, where all the accused raped her inside. During the investigation, it was revealed that Jagge's real name was Jagjit Singh, son of Ajit Singh, a resident of Goindwal. Jagjit was arrested in connection with the case. Karan, a resident of Baldev Nagar, and two youths from Arjun Avtaar Nagar were also arrested. The two accused, along with Jagjit, had carried out the crime. The car used in the incident has also been recovered. Three accused have been arrested so far in this case.
