Rapido driver's abusive tirade: 'Is this your father's car?' sparks outrage

Gurugram (The Uttam Hindu) : A viral video on social media has once again raised serious questions about women's safety. In the video, a woman is seen tearfully recounting her ordeal, alleging that a Rapido cab driver mistreated her, verbally abused her, and left her on the road in the dark of night.

This incident is said to have happened on December 15. Instagram user @stargirl_on_the_go has shared the entire video on Instagram. According to the woman, she was talking on the phone while travelling in the cab and the music was very loud, which she asked the driver to lower. The woman alleges that she requested the driver twice to lower the volume, but she was ignored. On requesting the third time, the driver got angry and using abusive language said, "Is this your father's car? If you want to talk on the phone, then get off." So she stopped the car and escaped from there saving her life.

Pressure for compromise at the police station, court's stance

According to the victim, when she reached the police station with her complaint, instead of registering an FIR, she was pressured to compromise. After this, she called her mother and sister and the next day filed a complaint against the driver in the district court. This video has been viewed about 1.5 crore times so far and has received more than 26 thousand comments. Users are tagging Rapido in the comment section and demanding strict action against the driver and a clear answer from the platform.
