Puja Vidhi (Rituals)

On this day, devotees should wake up in Brahma Muhurat, take a holy bath, and purify the puja space. The mandap is decorated with flour, turmeric, rice, and flowers. Lord Shiva and Parvati are worshipped by offering milk, water, curd, honey, and ghee, followed by bilva leaves, flowers, sacred thread, wheat, sesame seeds, sugar, and incense.

Devotees chant “Om Namah Shivaya” and perform evening prayers, listen to the Shukra Pradosh Katha, and conclude with an aarti. After puja, prasad is distributed among family members, and devotees are encouraged to donate food to Brahmins and the needy. The fast is concluded with paran (breaking of fast) the next morning.
