Broad daylight shooting in Sonipat: Father and son killed, attackers escape on stolen bike

Sonipat(The Uttam Hindu): This morning, attackers in a Scorpio shot and killed a father and son riding a bike near Thana Kalan Chowk on the Kharkhoda bypass. While fleeing after the incident, the attackers' Scorpio collided with a flyover and was damaged. Three or four attackers snatched a young man's bike and fled on it. Police are investigating the matter.

Mohit, a resident of Gopalpur village, was heading towards Kharkhoda with his father, Dharambir, on Friday morning. When they reached near Thana Kalan Chowk on the Kharkhoda bypass around 9:45 am, three or four young men in a Scorpio approached and shot the father and son, killing them on the spot. After committing the crime, the attackers attempted to flee when their Scorpio collided with a flyover. The youths then got out of the vehicle and stopped Suresh, a resident of Turkpur village, who was passing by. They snatched Suresh's bike and fled on it.

Police, who arrived after receiving information about the incident, have begun investigating the case.

Mohit had been attacked before

It has been learned that Mohit had been attacked about a year ago, in which he was shot. He survived that time. Police believe that this incident was carried out due to an old rivalry. Dharambir and Mohit were traveling to Kharkhoda on a bike for an important business when the attackers opened fire on them. Mohit was also charged with murder. He was accused of killing a young man from the village.

Police blocked the area and forensic team began investigating

As soon as the incident was reported, Kharkhoda police station, the crime unit and the FSL team arrived at the scene. Police have cordoned off the entire area and launched a search for the attackers. Forensic teams have collected evidence from the scene. Police will send the bodies to Sonipat Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
