Asia Cup final tension: Hardik and Abhishek injured, coach gives latest update

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Team India's bowling coach Morne Morkel has given a big update about Hardik Pandya and Abhishek Sharma before the title match of Asia Cup 2025. Morkel did not seem too worried about the injuries of both the players. Hardik Pandya could bowl only one over against Sri Lanka. He took the wicket of Kusal Mendis (0) on the fourth ball of the innings, after which he left the field due to injury in his left hamstring. In the press conference after the match, Morkel clarified, Hardik had cramps, he will be examined, after that we will take a decision regarding the next match.
Abhishek Sharma was also seen holding his right thigh in the ninth over against Sri Lanka. He then applied ice to relieve the cramps. According to coach Morkel, the focus on Saturday will be on complete recovery. He said, "It is important for these players to rest. They have taken ice baths for this. Recovery started immediately after the match. The best way to recover is to sleep and rest. Individual pool sessions will be organized for the players."
India won the final Super 4 match against Sri Lanka in a Super Over on Friday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Team India scored 202 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.
