Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has directed Shah Rukh Khan-owned IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to remove Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from the team. The decision comes amid growing demands to drop the player due to the ongoing violence against minority Hindus in Bangladesh.

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia stated that considering recent developments, the board has instructed IPL franchise KKR to release one of its players, Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman. He added that if the franchise requests a replacement player, the BCCI will allow it as per league rules.

It is worth noting that Mustafizur Rahman was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for ₹9.2 crore during the IPL mini auction held in Abu Dhabi last month. With this deal, he became the most expensive Bangladeshi player in IPL history.
