New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a shocking revelation, Team India’s rising star Rinku Singh has reportedly received threats from the underworld, with gang members demanding ₹5 crore as extortion money. According to the Mumbai Crime Branch, individuals linked to the Dawood Ibrahim gang (D-Company) allegedly sent threatening messages to Rinku Singh’s promotional team between February and April 2025.

The Crime Branch has arrested two suspects in connection with the case. During preliminary interrogation, it was revealed that the accused had possible links to members of D-Company. Investigators are now working to determine whether the threats were issued directly under the gang’s instructions or through intermediaries.

Following the incident, Rinku Singh immediately informed the police, leading to heightened security arrangements for the cricketer. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has also sought a detailed report from Mumbai Police regarding the safety of players and the potential involvement of organized crime networks in targeting sports professionals.

The case has sent shockwaves across the cricketing fraternity, raising serious concerns about the security of athletes who often face rising public visibility and social media exposure.
