Dinesh Karthik appointed London spirit's mentor and batting coach in the hundred league

London (The Uttam Hindu) : After retiring from international cricket and the IPL, Dinesh Karthik's dominance in the coaching field is growing. Former RCB mentor in the IPL, Dinesh Karthik has been appointed as the mentor and batting coach of London Spirit, a franchise of The Hundred, run by the ECB.

London Spirit's Director of Cricket, Mo Bobat, said, "We are delighted to welcome Dinesh Karthik to London Spirit. He is a truly innovative thinker in our game. His vast experience in short-format and franchise cricket will be invaluable to us. He is also a great pleasure to work with. He brings tremendous energy and enthusiasm to everything he does."

Bobat said, "The addition of someone with such a high profile in the game is a sign of the importance we place on providing quality support to our team." On being appointed as London Spirit's mentor and batting coach, Dinesh Karthik said, "These are exciting times. I was really excited to join. Spending the English summer working at Lord's is a dream come true. This is the ground where I made my debut for India and played my last Test match. Lord's is very close to my heart. I can't wait to see the squad come together next year and work with some of the best cricketers."

For Dinesh Karthik, working as a batting coach and mentor at London Spirit is like working in a familiar setup. He has worked with RCB in the IPL, alongside coach Andy Flower and director of cricket Mo Bobat.

Dinesh Karthik joined RCB as a mentor in IPL 2025. His first season proved memorable. He, along with head coach Andy Flower, led RCB to its first IPL title. Dinesh Karthik has extensive experience in international T20 and IPL. Dinesh scored 686 runs in 48 innings of 60 T20 matches for India at a strike rate of 142.62. In his IPL career between 2008 and 2024, he scored 4,842 runs in 234 innings of 257 matches, including 22 half-centuries, at a strike rate of 135.37. He has also captained KKR in the IPL. In addition to the IPL, Dinesh Karthik has also played in the South African T20 League.
