Vadodara (The Uttam Hindu): Indian cricket team's star batsman Shreyas Iyer is all set to return to international cricket after a long gap of about two and a half months, but just before reaching Vadodara, he narrowly escaped an accident which could have put a shadow on his comeback. Iyer, who is going to play the ODI series against New Zealand, narrowly escaped being attacked by a fan's dog. His attempt to caress the dog was about to prove fatal for him but his alertness saved him.

Meanwhile, a female fan was standing there with her white pet dog. The woman told Iyer that one of his "fans" had come to meet him.
