DPL 2025: West Delhi Lions thrilling win against Central Delhi Kings

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): West Delhi Lions won the 29th match of Delhi Premier League 2025 (DPL). The team defeated Central Delhi Kings by a close margin of three runs in the match played at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Thursday. West Delhi Lions, who came to bat first after losing the toss, scored 178 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated overs.
Lions had lost the wicket of Ankit Kumar (1) for just three runs. Opener Krish Yadav took charge, but the team lost four wickets at the score of 65. From here, Krish Yadav along with Hrithik Shaukeen took charge of the team by making a partnership of 52 runs for the fifth wicket.
Krish Yadav scored 85 runs in 60 balls with the help of four sixes and eight fours, while Hrithik was out after scoring 20 runs. Apart from these, Ravneet Tanwar played a stormy innings of 38 runs in 12 balls. For the opposition team, Grewal took the maximum three wickets, while Arun Pundir and Pranshu Vijayran took two wickets each.
In reply, Central Delhi Kings could only manage 175 runs for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated overs. Siddharth June returned to the pavilion after scoring just 1 run, after which Yash Dhull shared a 40-run partnership for the second wicket with Yugal Saini (11).
The team had lost two wickets at a score of 46. From here, Yash tried to handle the team by making a partnership of 79 runs for the third wicket with captain Jonty Sidhu. Yash Dhul was out after scoring 72 runs in 49 balls with the help of one six and 12 fours, while Jonty played an innings of 56 runs in 41 balls. Apart from these, Aditya Bhandari added 23 runs to the team's account, but could not make Kings win.
From the opposition camp, Nitish Rana, Anirudh Chaudhary, Shivank Vashishtha and Shubham Dubey got one success each.
