FIFA World Cup 2026 Groups Announced; Find Out Which Groups Feature Ronaldo and Messi

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The FIFA World Cup 2026, the world’s most popular football tournament, will be hosted next year in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This edition will feature 48 teams for the first time, increasing excitement among fans worldwide.

The official draw for the World Cup was announced at a special ceremony attended by global sports stars like Tom Brady, Shaquille O’Neal, Aaron Judge, and Wayne Gretzky. The tournament will begin on 11 June, and the final match will be played on 19 July at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

So far, 42 teams have qualified, while 6 spots are still undecided. Two of these will be filled through the intercontinental playoffs. Jordan, Cape Verde, Curaçao, and Uzbekistan will make their World Cup debut this year.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal has been placed in Group K, Lionel Messi’s Argentina in Group J, and Kylian Mbappé’s France along with Erling Haaland’s Norway in Group I. Fans are expecting many thrilling matches in the upcoming tournament.
