Golf legend Tiger Woods arrested after car crash, suspected of drunk driving

Florida (The Uttam Hindu): Legendary golfer Tiger Woods was taken into police custody following a serious car accident near Jupiter Island in Florida. The 15-time major champion was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) shortly after the incident, which occurred not far from his residence.

Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek confirmed the incident, stating that Woods was detained immediately after the crash.

Accident occurred during overtaking attempt

According to officials, the accident was caused by high speed and a risky overtaking maneuver. Woods was reportedly driving his Land Rover at high speed on South Beach Road when he attempted to overtake a truck carrying a pressure cleaner.

The truck slowed down suddenly while turning into a driveway, which led to Woods losing control of his vehicle.

SUV overturned after collision

Although Woods managed to avoid a direct collision with the truck, his SUV crashed into the rear of the trailer. The impact was severe, causing the vehicle to overturn and slide across the road.

Despite the intensity of the crash, Woods survived the incident and was safely pulled out through the passenger-side window.

Police are continuing their investigation into the case.
