ICC rankings: Rohit's reign ends in ODIs, Bumrah retains No. 1 spot in Tests

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell has overtaken Rohit Sharma to take the top spot in the ICC men's ODI rankings. However, Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah remains at the top of the Test bowlers' rankings.
Daryl Mitchell scored 119 runs in the first ODI against the West Indies on November 16, but was ruled out of the remainder of the series due to a back injury. Mitchell became the first New Zealand player to top the men's ODI batting rankings since Glenn Turner in 1979. This marks the end of Rohit Sharma's 22-day reign.
Mitchell jumped two places to overtake Afghanistan's Ibrahim Zadran and India's Rohit Sharma. Meanwhile, Pakistan's Babar Azam has reached sixth place after scoring 102 runs against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi. Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman have moved up to 22nd and 26th positions respectively after scoring two half-centuries each in the series. In the ODI bowlers' list, Pakistani leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed has jumped 11 places to ninth. Abrar took 3 wickets for 41 runs in the second ODI against Sri Lanka.
Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf has jumped five places to 23rd. West Indies' Jayden Seales has also moved up three places to 20th. Roston Chase has gained 12 places to currently be ranked 46th.
In the Test rankings, Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who took six wickets against South Africa, retained his top spot. Kuldeep Yadav, meanwhile, moved up two spots to a career-best 13th. Ravindra Jadeja climbed four spots to 15th. South African off-spinner Simon Harmer, who took eight wickets at Eden Gardens, climbed 20 spots to a career-best 24th.
