Rajgir (The Uttam Hindu): The Indian men's hockey team has maintained its winning streak in the ongoing Hockey Asia Cup in Rajgir, Bihar. After winning the first match against China, Team India registered its second consecutive win by defeating Japan 3-2 in its second and very exciting match of Pool-A. With this victory, India has confirmed its place in the Super-4 of the tournament.


In this tough match against Japan, once again the team captain Harmanpreet Singh emerged as a hero. He performed brilliantly and scored the most 2 goals for India, while an important goal was scored by Raj Kumar Pal. Harmanpreet has scored a total of 5 goals in 2 matches so far in this tournament. Kawabe Kosai scored both the goals from Japan's side.


With this win, the Indian team has topped the Pool-A points table with 6 points from 2 matches. At the same time, Japan has slipped to third place with 3 points, while China is in second place with 3 points.


After securing a place in the Super-4, the Indian team is now focused on staying on top of the pool. For this, Team India will play its next match against Kazakhstan on 1 September.
