New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Former Australian fast bowler Ryan Harris shared his insights on the strengths of the fast bowlers competing in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Pat Cummins known for his relentless approach, Cummins thrives on being consistently accurate and executing his plans flawlessly. As the leader of the bowling attack, he sets the tone for the team. While he looked a bit rusty after a break heading into the Perth Test, he’s now found his rhythm, and once fully in the groove, we’ll see the world-class performance we expect from him. Mitchell Starc started the first Test strong, delivering quick and swinging deliveries. When he’s bowling at mid-140 km/h and getting the ball to move, it shows he's in top form. His ability to bowl with pace and swing has made him a dangerous bowler throughout his career, and that threat remains ever-present.

Josh Hazlewood some have compared Hazlewood’s game to Harris’s own, noting the similarity in their consistency. Standing taller than Harris, Hazlewood’s main strength lies in hitting that off-stump line consistently, much like Glen McGrath. His height also enables him to generate steep bounce, making him a formidable force in all conditions. Scott Boland is particularly lethal with the pink ball. His strength lies in his ability to consistently hit the right length, especially in Australian conditions. Add to that his deadly nip-back delivery, and he becomes a huge threat to Indian batters in this series. Jasprit Bumrah awkward action is a nightmare for any batter, but it's his release point that sets him apart. He releases the ball much further forward than most bowlers—by about 40 centimeters—giving batters less time to react. Combined with his high pace, skillful seam movement, and ability to swing the ball both ways, his unique action and release create an extra split second of doubt in the batter’s mind, making him incredibly hard to face. Mohammed Siraj over the past year, Siraj has developed into a top-quality Test bowler. His time spent with Bumrah has clearly helped refine his craft. Harris noted that Siraj’s growth has been impressive, and he’s now a key threat for India. Harshit Rana a surprise to Harris, Rana’s pace was quicker than expected. Although he didn’t take many wickets in the second innings, his role in keeping pressure on the Australian batters didn’t go unnoticed. His sharp pace could make him a bowler to watch in future matches.
