Jaw-Dropping Finish: Siraj Helps India Win by 6 Runs, Series Tied 2-2

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): India won the thrilling match played at Kennington Oval by 6 runs. By winning the fifth test, Team India ended the series at 2-2. After losing the toss, the Indian team which came out to bat could score only 224 runs in the first innings. In this innings, Karun Nair scored 57 runs, but could not take the team to a respectable score.
For England, Gus Atkinson took the maximum five wickets in this innings, while Josh Tongue took three wickets. In response, England scored 247 runs in the first innings and took a slight lead of 23 runs. Jack Crowley scored the highest 64 runs for England, while Harry Brook contributed 53 runs to the team's account. For India, Mohammad Siraj and Prasidh Krishna took four wickets each, while Akash Deep took one wicket. In the second innings, India had lost two wickets by the score of 70. From here Yashasvi Jaiswal tried to handle the team by making a partnership of 107 runs for the third wicket with Akash Deep.
Jaiswal scored 118 runs with the help of 14 fours and two sixes, while Akash Deep played an innings of 66 runs. Apart from these, Ravindra Jadeja (53) and Washington Sundar (53) scored half-centuries. Josh Tongue took five wickets in India's second innings. Gus Atkinson got three, while Jamie Overton got two successes. England got a target of 374 runs to win. Jack Crowley (14) and Ben Duckett (54) shared a 50-run partnership for the first wicket. When captain Ollie Pope (27) was out, the team had scored 106 runs after losing three wickets. From here, Joe Root brought the team closer to victory by adding 195 runs with Harry Brook. Root scored 105 runs, while Brook played an innings of 111 runs. On the final day of the match, England needed 35 runs to win, but after removing Jamie Smith at a score of 347, India came back in the match and bowled out England for 367.
England won the first match of the series by five wickets, after which Team India equalized the series by winning the second match by 336 runs. England took the lead in the series by winning the third match by a close margin of 22 runs. After this the fourth match was a draw.
