India–Pakistan Clash Confirmed on September 14 as Asia Cup 2025 Fixtures Announced

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The wait of cricket lovers is over as the schedule of Asia Cup 2025 has been announced. This prestigious tournament will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) this time from September 9 to September 28. The biggest news is that the much-awaited match between India and Pakistan will be held on Sunday, September 14.
The tournament will be held in T20 format, which is considered important in terms of preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. That World Cup will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
A total of eight teams will participate in the upcoming edition of the Asia Cup, which have been divided into two groups of four each. India and Pakistan have been placed in the same group, which is expected to lead to another exciting match between the two teams.
Group-A: India, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Hong Kong.
Group-B: Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Oman.
India's schedule
The tournament will begin with a match between Afghanistan and Hong Kong on 9 September. The Indian team will start its campaign against UAE on 10 September. After this, Team India will face Pakistan on 14 September. India's third group match will be played against Oman on 19 September.
September 10: India vs UAE
September 14: India vs Pakistan (Sunday)
September 19: India vs Oman
Recently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) refused to attend the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting in Dhaka in person, citing the ongoing diplomatic tension between India and Bangladesh. BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla attended the meeting virtually. Due to the same tension, the India-Bangladesh bilateral series proposed in August 2025 has also been postponed indefinitely.
