New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Indian cricket team has secured a place in the Super 8 of the T20 World Cup 2026 by topping Group A. The schedule for the Indian team's Super 8 matches has also been revealed. Let's take a look at the Indian team's record against the teams they will play in the Super 8.


The Indian team will play three matches in the Super 8 stage. The first match will be against South Africa on February 22nd. The match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, starting at 7:00 PM. This is the toughest Super 8 match for Team India. South Africa is in tremendous form in the World Cup and came in as the top seed in Group D. Therefore, the match between India and South Africa is sure to be a close contest.


India and South Africa have played 35 T20 matches. India has won 21 matches, while South Africa has won 13. One match has been inconclusive. On paper, the statistics favor India. Team India won the last T20 World Cup by defeating South Africa, but despite this, the next match could be a close contest.


India's second Super 8 match will be played against Zimbabwe on February 26th at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, starting at 7:00 PM. Zimbabwe is also performing well and has defeated a team like Australia. Therefore, the India-Zimbabwe match should not be taken lightly. India and Zimbabwe have played 13 T20 matches so far. India has won 10 of them, while Zimbabwe has won 3.


India's third Super 8 match is against the dangerous West Indies. Two-time world champions West Indies performed brilliantly in this World Cup, topping Group D to reach the Super 8. The Windies performed strongly in both batting and bowling. The match against West Indies will also not be easy for India.


30 matches have been played between India and West Indies, of which India has won 19 and West Indies has won 10. One match has not resulted in a result.
