Jadeja Likely to Surpass 4,000 Runs and 400 Wickets in Tests by Career End: Parthiv Patel

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel has praised all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, predicting that he will surpass 4,000 runs and 400 wickets in Test cricket by the end of his career.
Speaking to JioStar, Patel said, “It’s incredible to see Jadeja bat so brilliantly. The Indian management has shown tremendous faith in him, promoting him to bat at the fifth, sixth, or seventh position. When the dressing room trusts you, it changes your mindset. Though primarily an all-rounder with exceptional bowling skills, his batting contribution has become invaluable. His batting in the England Test series was crucial, helping India draw the series.”
Patel added, “With nearly 4,000 runs and 335 wickets, Jadeja is undoubtedly India’s greatest all-rounder. I am confident that by the end of his career, he will cross 400 wickets and 4,000 runs, a monumental achievement. Globally, he is currently the number one all-rounder, far ahead of players like Ben Stokes, Pat Cummins, and Shakib Al Hasan. His consistency with both bat and ball in all conditions sets him apart. This is not just occasional brilliance; it’s sustained performance that cements his status as the world’s top all-rounder today.”
Jadeja played a match-winning role in India’s first Test victory against England, scoring an unbeaten 104 runs and taking four wickets, earning the Player of the Match award.
