New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News) – Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a century in the first innings of the second Test against the West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. This was Jaiswal's seventh Test century of his career. With this, Jaiswal has secured a place among the legendary players.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has reached the joint fourth position among the players with the most Test centuries before the age of 24. Javed Miandad, Graeme Smith, Alastair Cook and Kane Williamson are also in the fourth position with seven centuries each in this list. Only Don Bradman (12), Sachin Tendulkar (11) and Garfield Sobers (9) are above the 23-year-old Jaiswal in this list. Till the second session of the first day, the Indian team seems to be in a strong position. The host team has scored 220 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 58 overs.

India, who won the toss and elected to bat, got off to a flying start with the opening pair of KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal. They put on 58 runs for the first wicket. KL Rahul was dismissed for 38. Sai Sudarshan then came on to bat. He and Yashasvi Jaiswal added 162 runs from 243 balls until the T-break. By the end of the second session, Jaiswal had scored 111 runs from 162 balls with 16 fours, while Sai Sudarshan had scored 71 runs from 132 balls with 11 fours. Jomel Warrican was the only West Indies wicketkeeper to score. India won the first match of the series by an innings and 140 runs. In the previous match, the West Indies team performed poorly with both the bat and the ball, which gives India a strong advantage over the visiting team.

Both the teams in this match are as follows-

India's playing XI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudarshan, Shubman Gill (captain), Dhruv Jurel (wicketkeeper), Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.
