PM Modi attends Neeraj Chopra's grand wedding reception, shares warm moments with couple

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the wedding reception of Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra and tennis player Himani Mor. A video of this special occasion has surfaced, showing Prime Minister Modi presenting gifts to the newlyweds, posing for photos with them, and blessing them. During the event, PM Modi also had a cordial conversation with Neeraj and Himani.
It's worth noting that Neeraj Chopra married Himani Mor in a low-key ceremony in January of this year. At the time, the wedding details were kept private, and the ceremony was held in the presence of family members and close friends. Neeraj later shared the happy news on social media by sharing wedding photos.
Nearly a year after their wedding, Neeraj and Himani hosted a grand reception. The first reception took place on December 26th in Karnal, Haryana, while the second reception was held on December 27th at The Leela Palace in Delhi. According to media reports, the Delhi ceremony was attended by numerous prominent figures from the sports, political, and social spheres, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Neeraj and Himani previously met Prime Minister Modi at his residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. Sharing a photo of that meeting, PM Modi wrote on the social media platform X that he discussed a range of topics, including sports, with Neeraj Chopra and his wife, Himani Mor.
Looking back at Neeraj Chopra's athletic career, he brought glory to the country by winning a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He then won a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Neeraj has also won gold medals at the World Championships and Diamond League. His wife, Himani Mor, is a former tennis player. She holds a degree in Sports Management from Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire, USA, and studied Political Science and Physical Education at Miranda House in Delhi.
