
Kozhikode (The Uttam Hindu): V Srinivasan, husband of Rajya Sabha MP and President of the Indian Olympic Association PT Usha, passed away on Friday morning. His demise has caused a wave of grief across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to PT Usha and expressed his condolences, saying that his thoughts are with the bereaved family during this difficult time and that he is praying for peace for the departed soul.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju also expressed deep sorrow over the passing of V Srinivasan. In a social media post, he said he was saddened to learn about the demise of PT Usha’s husband and extended his heartfelt condolences to her and her family, praying for strength and courage to face this loss.
According to available information, 67-year-old Srinivasan collapsed at his residence on Friday morning. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. V Srinivasan was a former employee of the central government.
He played an important role in PT Usha’s remarkable sporting and political journey and was widely regarded as her strongest support system behind many of her professional achievements. The couple has one son, Ujjwal.
