New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) - Indian star shuttler PV Sindhu has entered the quarter-finals of the Indonesia Masters Super 500 badminton tournament with a brilliant performance. In the pre-quarter-final match, Sindhu defeated Denmark's Line Højmark Kjærfeldt in straight sets. The match lasted only 43 minutes, in which Sindhu won the first game 21-19 and the second game 21-18. With this victory, PV Sindhu registered her 500th career win in singles and created a new history.


PV Sindhu becomes the first Indian female player

PV Sindhu has become the first Indian female badminton player to achieve 500 wins in singles. Not only this, she has joined the select group of players in the world who have won 500 or more matches in singles. Sindhu is the sixth female player to achieve this feat at the world level. At the beginning of the tournament, Sindhu had to struggle hard in the first round, but after that she displayed her experience and aggressive game. Now in the quarter-finals, PV Sindhu will face world number 4 Chen Yu Fei of China. Both the players have faced each other 13 times so far, in which Chen Yu Fei has won 7 matches while Sindhu has won 6 matches.


Lakshya Sen also made his mark

in the men's singles quarterfinals. In the pre-quarterfinals, he defeated Jason Gunawan of Hong Kong 21-10, 21-11 in a one-sided contest.
