RCB’s Last-Minute Masterstroke: The 6-Foot-8 Mystery Pacer Joins the Squad

Bengaluru(The Uttam Hindu): As Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) advance to the playoffs of IPL 2025, the franchise has made a strategic move by signing Zimbabwe’s tall fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani as a replacement for South African pacer Lungi Ngidi.
Muzarabani, 28, is known not just for his pace but also for his towering height — 6 feet 8 inches — making him one of the tallest cricketers in the world today. His height puts him in the same league as South Africa’s Marco Jansen, who also stands at 6’8”, giving both bowlers a unique edge in extracting bounce and awkward angles from the pitch.
RCB’s decision to include Muzarabani comes at a crucial time as the team looks to boost its bowling arsenal for the knockout matches. The Zimbabwean quick has earned a reputation for troubling top-order batters, including Pakistan's star batsman Babar Azam, with his sharp bounce and disciplined line.
This late-stage inclusion is seen as a tactical masterstroke by the RCB management, hoping Muzarabani’s raw pace and height will provide the X-factor as they aim for their maiden IPL title.
