London (The Uttam Hindu): The third test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy between India and England started at Lord's on Thursday. Sachin Tendulkar rang the iconic bell for five minutes before the start of the Lord's Test. Sachin Tendulkar arrived at the stadium with his wife Anjali Tendulkar. He rang the bell for five minutes after greeting the spectators present there and then accepting their greetings.

After this, Sachin Tendulkar was seen talking to former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. The tradition of ringing the bell before any Test at Lord's started in 2007. Before Sachin, legendary Indians like Sunil Gavaskar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid have carried out this tradition. The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) had said that Tendulkar would ring the bell for the first time at Lord's on the same day when his portrait created by artist Stuart Pearson Wright would be unveiled at the MCC Museum. After this, the organization said that Tendulkar's portrait created by British artist Stuart Pearson Wright will remain in the museum and will be moved to the pavilion later this year.

Tendulkar, who retired from international cricket in 2013, is considered one of the greatest batsmen of all time. This right-handed batsman from Mumbai has scored 34,357 international runs in all three formats. He is the only batsman to score 100 centuries in international cricket. Talking about the Lord's Test, both the teams have come with big changes in bowling. England has included Jofra Archer in the playing XI. Archer has returned to the Test team after four years. England has kept Josh Tongue out of the playing XI. At the same time, the Indian team has included Jasprit Bumrah in the playing XI. Prasidh Krishna has been kept out of the team.
