Unicorns Edge Out Super Kings: Matthew Short's Captaincy Innings Secures One-Run Win

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): San Francisco Unicorns registered a thrilling win in the 25th match of Major League Cricket (MLC). The team won the match against Texas Super Kings in Florida by just one run. This was San Francisco Unicorns' seventh win in the season, while Texas Super Kings have faced defeat in three matches. Both these teams, which have already qualified for the 'playoffs', have played nine matches each so far.
After losing the toss and batting first, San Francisco Unicorns scored just 148 runs for the loss of six wickets. The team lost three wickets for just 19 runs. From here, opener Matthew Short played a captaincy innings and took charge of the team. Matthew Short shared a 69-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Hasan Khan. Hasan Khan was dismissed after scoring 40 runs in 25 balls with the help of three sixes and two fours. After this, Matthew Short took the innings forward and scored 80 runs in 63 balls with the help of four sixes and five fours. For the opposition team, Marcus Stoinis took the maximum three wickets, while Akil Hussain, Nandre Berger and Noor Ahmed got one success each.
In response, Texas Super Kings could score 147 runs by losing seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. For the team, Devon Ferreira scored 39 runs in 20 balls, while Saiteja Mukkamalla scored 34 runs in 29 balls. Apart from these, Shubham Ranjane played an innings of 28 runs. The team needed 13 runs in the last overs to win, it had four wickets left. Mohammad Mohsin hit a four on the first ball of the last over, but no run was scored on the next ball. One run came on the third and fourth ball, while Mohsin again hit a four on the fifth ball.
