Shreyas Iyer out of ICU, condition stable; full recovery to take time

Sydney (The Uttam Hindu): Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer has been released from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). His condition is now stable. Iyer is expected to fully recover by next week. Sources have stated that the team management is in contact with Shreyas Iyer and his recovery is being closely monitored.
Shreyas Iyer was injured while fielding in the 34th over of the Australian innings on October 25th. Alex Carey played an aerial shot off the fourth ball of Harshit Rana's over. Iyer began running in the opposite direction to catch the ball. Eventually, Iyer managed to catch the ball, but fell to the ground. Iyer suffered a lower left rib injury, causing him to writhe in pain. He then left the field and was taken to the hospital.
Initially thought to be a rib injury, it turned out to be more serious than anticipated, leading to Iyer being admitted to the ICU of a Sydney hospital. He is now showing good signs of improvement. Sources indicate that his family may soon travel to Australia to inquire about his health.
Earlier, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had confirmed Iyer's injury, saying, "Scans have revealed a spleen injury. He is undergoing treatment. Iyer's condition is stable. The BCCI medical team is closely monitoring his injury in consultation with experts in Sydney and India. The Indian team doctor will remain with Shreyas in Sydney to assess his daily progress."
Shreyas Iyer scored 11 runs against Australia in Perth, followed by 61 in Adelaide. However, Iyer did not bat in the third match played in Sydney.
