Shreyas Iyer Takes Command: Indian Squad Unveiled for Series against Australia

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Senior Men's Selection Committee has selected the India-A team for two four-day matches against Australia-A. The captaincy of this team is in the hands of Shreyas Iyer, while Dhruv Jurel will be the vice-captain.
Shreyas Iyer was not selected in the Indian team for Asia Cup 2025. His name was also not in the list of standby players, which surprised the fans. At the same time, despite playing a century of 184 runs in the Duleep Trophy, Rituraj Gaikwad has been ignored once again. This team includes star players like Abhimanyu Easwaran, Prasidh Krishna, Ayush Badoni, Sai Sudarshan, Nitish Reddy, while KL Rahul and Mohammad Siraj will join the team in the second four-day match. He will replace two players included in the team after the first match.
India-A and Australia-A will play two four-day matches from September 16. The first match will be held at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, while the next match is also to be played on the same ground between September 23-26. After this, both the teams will play a series of three ODI matches at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur from September 30. The first match of the ODI series will be played on September 30, after which the remaining two matches of the series will be held on October 3 and October 5.
