Star cricketer in trouble as wife levels serious allegations of torture and illicit relations.
Former IPL player Amit Mishra faces serious allegations of domestic violence, dowry harassment and extramarital affairs by his wife

Kanpur (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking case has emerged from Kanpur where former IPL cricketer Amit Mishra’s wife, Garima Tiwari, has filed a complaint in court accusing him and his family of domestic violence, dowry harassment and maintaining illicit relationships. According to reports, Garima filed the case on March 9, 2026, in the Judicial Magistrate Court, alleging that she was subjected to continuous mental and physical torture during their marriage.
Garima, a former model and resident of Birhana Road in Kanpur, stated that she had earlier approached the Kanpur Police Commissioner and the Philkhana police station with her complaints. However, she claims that no concrete action was taken over the past year, which forced her to seek legal intervention through the court. The court has now registered the domestic violence case and issued notices to the accused.
In her complaint, Garima said she met Amit Mishra through Instagram in 2020, and the two later got married on April 26, 2021, at the Kanpur Club with the consent of their families. She alleged that soon after their engagement, demands for a luxury car and other costly items began. Garima further claimed that after discovering alleged chats between Amit and several women, she was threatened with divorce and physically assaulted. She has demanded Rs 1 crore in compensation, monthly maintenance, return of her jewellery and the right to reside in her husband’s house. Meanwhile, Amit Mishra or his family have not yet issued any official response to the allegations.
