New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) — Former Indian cricket star Suresh Raina is set to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday to record his statement in connection with the high-profile OneXBet illegal betting case. This is part of an ongoing investigation into the controversial platform and its celebrity promoters.

According to ED sources, OneXBet claims to host skill-based games, but investigators allege that the platform’s algorithms classify it as a “gambling operation” under Indian law. The company had appointed Suresh Raina as its “Responsible Gaming Ambassador.”

Raina, regarded as one of India’s finest cricketers and fielders, has an illustrious record — 5,615 runs in 226 ODIs, 1,605 runs in 78 T20Is, and 768 runs in 18 Tests, making him one of the few to score centuries in all formats of the game.

The investigation has already drawn several big names into the spotlight. On Monday, actor Rana Daggubati appeared before the ED in Hyderabad after requesting a reschedule of his July 23 summons due to filming commitments. He was questioned about whether he was paid to promote the app and how any such funds were used.

In May, Telangana Police booked Rana Daggubati, veteran actor Prakash Raj, and 25 other celebrities over alleged links to the promotion of online betting platforms. Officials say more notices may be issued as the probe expands, with multiple cases involving illegal betting apps accused of duping people and investors of crores of rupees.
