Guwahati (The Uttam Hindu): A sensational performance in Indian Premier League has stunned the cricketing world, as 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi delivered a match-winning explosive innings for Rajasthan Royals against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.

Chasing a massive target of 202 runs, Suryavanshi launched a fearless attack from the start and scored 78 runs off just 26 balls. His explosive batting completely dismantled world-class bowlers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood, leaving them unable to control the flow of runs. Rajasthan Royals chased the target comfortably with 12 balls remaining, winning by 6 wickets.

Kohli’s special moment after the match

After the game, a heartwarming moment took place when the young batter approached superstar Virat Kohli and requested an autograph. Kohli, impressed by the teenager’s fearless performance, wrote a special message on the Rajasthan Royals cap: “Dear Vaibhav, well done.”

This “full circle” moment quickly became the highlight of the match, as one of the greatest modern cricketers acknowledged the rising talent.

Orange Cap leader at just 15

Suryavanshi’s explosive knock also pushed him to the top of the run charts, earning him the prestigious Orange Cap. In just four matches, he has scored 200 runs, including two half-centuries, overtaking Yashasvi Jaiswal in the race for runs.

With Rajasthan Royals, led by Riyan Parag, registering their fourth consecutive win, the team continues its strong form in the tournament.
