Women’s World Cup: Sri Lanka Eager to Open Account Against New Zealand in Colombo

Colombo (The Uttam Hindu): The 15th match of the Women’s World Cup 2025 will be played on Tuesday at the R. Premadasa Stadium, where Sri Lanka will face New Zealand. The Sri Lankan team aims to open its account after a disappointing start to the tournament.
Sri Lanka has played three matches so far, losing two and having one match abandoned. The team currently sits seventh on the points table. In contrast, New Zealand has won one of their three matches and occupies fifth place on the table.
For Sri Lanka, Harshita Samaravikrama and Neelakshi D Silva will be key to the batting effort, while Devmi Vihanga and Inoka Ranwira are expected to trouble the opposition with the ball.
