Patna (The Uttam Hindu): Asaduddin Owaisi's party, AIMIM, has suffered a major setback amid the Bihar Assembly elections. On Sunday, several AIMIM leaders joined the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). Party leader Tejashwi Yadav inducted AIMIM leaders into the RJD. Leaders from the BJP and JDU have also joined the RJD.

The leaders who left AIMIM and joined RJD include Zafar Aslam, Mufti Athar Javed, Mufti Sufiyan, Nehal Akhtar, Qaiser Rahi, Niazul Hasan, Arshi Aziz, Abdul Qayyum and Kalimuddin. Apart from this, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Pragati Mehta, JDU leader and former candidate from Marodha Altaf Alam Raju and Gadkha Zila Parishad member Yogendra Ram along with their supporters took membership of Rashtriya Janata Dal. RJD's state spokesperson Ejaz Ahmed said that Tejashwi Yadav welcomed everyone by giving them membership receipts and giving them the party's symbol, the Gamchha.

Tejashwi Yadav said that we must all stand together to transform Bihar, as we are entering the Bihar elections with pledges to provide jobs to every household, employment, and a new dimension to Bihar's development, as well as strengthen brotherhood to protect the Constitution and democracy. He said that the people of Bihar's faith and support for change is evident.

On this occasion, the AIMIM leaders who joined said that the mood of the people of Bihar is with Tejashwi Yadav's vision and mission. We all want Tejashwi Yadav as the Chief Minister of Bihar, that is why we are leaving our party and joining the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the ideology of Lalu Yadav. Rashtriya Janata Dal is the only party that has promoted employment and job politics against hatred.
