Anant Singh Remanded to 14-Day Judicial Custody in Beur Jail Amidst Dularchand Yadav Murder Probe

Patna (The Uttam Hindu): Former MLA Anant Singh was produced before the MP-MLA court in Patna today, Sunday, in connection with the murder of Jan Suraj Party supporter Dularchand Yadav. The court remanded him in judicial custody for 14 days. Singh will now spend his days in Patna's Beur Jail. He was arrested by Patna police late Saturday night on charges of murder.
The incident dates back to October 30, when Dularchand Yadav died in Mokama while campaigning for Jan Suraj Party candidate Piyush Priyadarshi.
According to a statement by Raviranjan Yadav, the deceased Dularchand's grandson, he clashed with Anant Singh's supporters during campaigning. The family alleges that Anant Singh's supporters first abused Dularchand, then shot him in the leg, and finally ran over him with a car, resulting in his death. Based on this statement, the police registered a murder case.
However, this high-profile case has now faced a major twist. While initially it was believed that Dular Chand was shot dead, the post-mortem report has complicated this theory.
The post-mortem report revealed that Dularchand Yadav died of cardiac arrest. According to the report, the cause of death was shock caused by a hard object striking his heart and lungs.
After registering a murder case, Patna police arrested Anant Singh from Kargil Market in Barh late Saturday night. Several other supporters, including Manikant Thakur and Ranjit Ram, were also arrested. After appearing in the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court in Patna today, Anant Singh was transferred to Beur Jail on a 14-day judicial remand.
