Silent killer: Family of 4 dies in sleep as bike's running engine turns home into gas chamber
A family of four dies in Punganur, Andhra Pradesh, after a bike's running engine fills their closed house with carbon monoxide gas overnight

Punganur (The Uttam Hindu): A heartbreaking incident has shaken the entire area in Punganur town, located in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district. Four members of a family sleeping in a house here died a horrific death. Surprisingly, this happy family wasn't killed by a disease or an attack, but by a "silent killer" gas that is neither visible nor odorous. By the time the family realized the danger, they were already dead.
One advice from a mechanic and the house became a gas chamber
This heartbreaking incident occurred in the Tyagaraju Street area of Punganur. According to reports, a resident had recently had his bike's engine repaired (bored). After the repair, the mechanic advised him to keep the engine running for a period of time to ensure the new parts set properly. Following this advice, the man unknowingly made a terrible mistake. He parked his bike inside the house, left the engine running, and went to sleep with his family.
Doors were closed to escape the cold, death came crawling
It was extremely cold at night, to escape from which the family had completely closed all the doors and windows of the house. They had no idea that the running engine of the bike parked inside the house was slowly releasing a deadly gas. Due to the closed room, the smoke had no way to escape and within a short time the entire house was filled with a dangerous gas like 'carbon monoxide'. This gas is colorless and odorless, which silently depletes the oxygen in the human body. Due to the effect of carbon monoxide, the husband, wife and their two innocent children fell unconscious in their sleep and could never wake up again.
The neighbors became suspicious after seeing the silence in the morning, and were shocked when the door was broken
The next morning, when the door remained open for a long time and there was no movement as usual, the neighbors became suspicious. They knocked on the door several times and called out, but there was no response from inside. Fearing something untoward, the police were immediately informed. When the police arrived at the scene and broke down the door, everyone was shocked to see the horrific scene inside. The entire family lay unconscious, and the room was filled with suffocating gas. A medical team of doctors was immediately called, but after examination, they declared all four dead.
The police have registered a case and begun their investigation. A simple negligence turned the laughter of children and the joy of a home into mourning forever. This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder to everyone about the serious consequences of leaving a generator or vehicle engine running in enclosed spaces.
