Patna (The Uttam Hindu): The atmosphere became heated during the proceedings of the Bihar Legislative Council on Tuesday when Chief Minister Nitish Kumar became enraged by the noise and sloganeering by opposition parties. Pointing to former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, he asked, "Is that girl of any use?" Nitish Kumar further said, "When he (Lalu Prasad) stepped down, she was made the Chief Minister. These people did nothing."

In fact, during the House proceedings, opposition councillors were constantly raising slogans, repeatedly disrupting the proceedings. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar stood up from his seat and, targeting the opposition, said that the House was only creating a ruckus, while no one was discussing anything important.

"What do these people who are making noise know?"

Nitish Kumar stood up and began to reprimand the opposition MLCs. "You guys have done some work," he said. "You only know how to make noise, and these three women who are making noise, what do they know?" He said that during their 15-year rule, the opposition pushed Bihar backward, while the current government has worked extensively for development since coming to power.

Chief Minister's claim:

Pointing towards Rabri Devi, Nitish Kumar said - "Is this girl (Rabri Devi) of any use? When her (husband-Lalu Prasad) left, they made her the Chief Minister." Nitish Kumar said that these people did nothing in 15 years. There was something here before. But when we came, how much work did we do together. These people know that they just make noise. Have you done any work in 15 years? How much work did we have to do. Nitish Kumar looked very angry during this.

The Chief Minister's remarks further escalated political tensions in the House. Opposition parties strongly objected to his statement, while members of the ruling party stood in support of the Chief Minister. The uproar briefly disrupted proceedings.
