Child Injury Sparks Public Anger After Fevikwik Used Instead of Stitches; Investigation Ordered

Meerut(The Uttam Hindu): A shocking case from Meerut has raised serious questions about medical negligence after a severely injured child was reportedly treated with Fevikwik instead of proper stitches.
The child, identified as Manraj Singh, suffered a deep wound near the eyebrow after an accident. When the family attempted to call for an ambulance, no vehicle arrived on time, forcing them to rush the child to medical help in a private car.
According to the family, the attending staff applied Fevikwik — an adhesive meant for household use — on the wound instead of providing stitches. The incident has created an uproar both locally and online, especially after the child’s photo began circulating on social media.
Meerut's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ashok Kataria, has taken serious note of the situation. He has formed a special investigation team to examine both the ambulance delay and the alleged improper medical treatment.
Residents and social media users are demanding strict action, calling the incident “unacceptable and dangerous,” emphasizing the need for reliable emergency services and trained medical response.
