Sitapur (The Uttam Hindu): A very painful and shocking incident has come to light from Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh. On Sunday morning, the bodies of a newly married couple were found hanging from a tree in the famous Mahamai temple complex located in Aniya Kala of Hargaon police station area. The most shocking and sad thing in this incident is that just 22 days ago, this couple had started their new life by taking seven vows in this very temple, but now in the same holy place, the husband and wife ended their lives by hanging themselves from the same rope.

After love marriage, he was living with his family

The deceased have been identified as Khusiram (22) and his wife Mohini (19), residents of Basti Purva in Laharpur. According to reports, the two were distant relatives and in love. Although their families were initially opposed to the relationship, they eloped on December 6th and married according to Vedic rituals at the Mahamai Temple. According to police, tensions persisted for a few days after the wedding, but things gradually returned to normal, and the family accepted the relationship. Khusiram had been living with his wife and family since their marriage. This suicide, when everything seemed normal, has shocked everyone.

People who went to visit the temple saw dead bodies

Early Sunday morning, when villagers and devotees arrived at the Mahamai Temple for worship, the scene there was horrified. The bodies of a husband and wife were hanging from a single rope from an old tree in the temple premises. A large crowd quickly gathered, and the entire area was in a state of shock. The villagers immediately informed the police. The family members who arrived at the scene were inconsolable, crying inconsolably, unable to believe why their children had taken such a drastic step.

Police engaged in investigation, the reason is still a mystery

Upon receiving the information, Hargaon Police Station Inspector Balwant Shahi arrived at the scene with the police force. The police removed the bodies from the noose, completed a panchnama, and sent them for post-mortem examination. The police are now thoroughly investigating what led the newlyweds to take their own lives just 22 days after their wedding. It is currently unclear whether this was a case of suicide or whether it was due to intense mental stress or family discord. The police say the exact cause of death will be revealed only after the post-mortem report is received.
