Election commission releases Bihar's final voter list, here's how to verify your details
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The final electoral roll for Bihar, as part of a special intensive revision program, was released on Tuesday (September 30, 2025). All eligible voters in the state can now check their name information through an online portal.
The Election Commission has shared a link where voters can verify their names, addresses, and other details. The publication of the electoral roll is considered a crucial step in preparations for the assembly elections. Earlier on August 1, the Election Commission released the first revised voter list draft after a special, intensive revision process. The draft voter list for 90,817 polling stations in Bihar's 243 assembly constituencies was also shared with recognized political parties.
It should be noted that in the first phase of the SIR, the names of a total of 65,64,075 voters were removed. These included fake voters and deceased voters. Furthermore, the names of those whose voter ID cards were issued in other states were also removed. However, several political leaders raised objections to this, leading to heated debate. Opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, Mallikarjun Kharge, Manoj Jha, and others, targeted the Election Commission and created a huge uproar over the removal of fake and illegal voters. Amidst this, the issue was even taken to the Supreme Court, where an interim order was issued requiring the inclusion of Aadhaar card as a document in the SIR process.
How to check your name on the list?
If you want to enroll your name in the Bihar Final Voter List, you can do so online, via a mobile app, or via SMS. The process is easy and requires only basic information or your EPIC (Voter ID) number.
Visit the Election Commission's official website, https://electoralsearch.eci.gov.in or https://voters.eci.gov.in. Click "Search in Electoral Roll." Once you click, you can search for your name in two ways: enter your name, date of birth, state (select Bihar), district, and assembly constituency, or enter your EPIC number (from your voter ID card).
After filling in the details, click "Search." If your name is listed, you will see your booth name, serial number, and EPIC number on the screen.
