Electric scooter explodes in Narnaul home, killing one and narrowly missing family

Ambala (The Uttam Hindu) : A tragic accident has occurred in Narnaul, Mahendragarh district, Haryana. A 55-year-old man died in a powerful explosion while charging his electric scooter. The blast also caused a massive fire in the house. Other family members present at the time of the accident escaped unhurt, but many household items were destroyed in the blaze.

The incident took place in Ramnagar Colony, located in Barkoda village, Narnaul. The deceased has been identified as Shivkumar (55). According to reports, Shivkumar was sleeping alone in a room at his home, charging his electric scooter at around 9:30 pm last night. The scooter's battery suddenly exploded, causing a fire to spread throughout the room.

The explosion caused panic, but the family was safe

Upon hearing the loud explosion, panic gripped the house. Shivkumar's wife, son, and daughter-in-law were sleeping in another room, and thus, they escaped unharmed. Seeing the explosion and the flames, neighbors rushed to the scene and immediately informed the police, ambulance, and fire department.

Fire brigade brought the fire under control, death confirmed in hospital

Upon receiving the information, the fire department team reached the spot and after a lot of effort, brought the fire under control. Shivkumar was taken out of the room and taken to the civil hospital by ambulance, where doctors declared him dead. According to doctors, Shivkumar died due to burns in the fire.

Shivkumar, a member of the Bawariya community, reportedly came to Narnaul from Barkoda village several years ago to work as a laborer. As usual, he put his scooter on charging at night, but the battery exploded, leading to the accident .

Police are investigating, raising questions about safety

Police have inspected the scene and registered a case, and the cause of the incident is being investigated. This accident has once again raised questions about the safety of electric vehicle batteries and the precautions to be taken during charging.
