Gaya Shocking Incident: Fainted Candidate Raped in Ambulance During Home Guard Recruitment

Gaya (The Uttam Hindu): An incident that shames humanity has come to light from Gaya in Bihar, where a female candidate who fainted during the Home Guard recruitment process was gang-raped in an ambulance. The ambulance driver and a technician are accused. The police took immediate action on the information given by the victim and arrested both the accused within just two hours.

This incident happened on Thursday during the Home Guard recruitment process going on at the BMP-3 parade ground in Bodh Gaya police station area of Gaya. A female candidate was participating in the race as part of the physical efficiency test when she suddenly fainted and fell. She was being taken to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College Hospital through an ambulance stationed at the spot for treatment.

In her statement to the police, the victim said that while being taken to the hospital, ambulance driver Vinay Kumar and technician Ajit Kumar gang-raped her inside the moving vehicle.

On Friday, SSP Anand Kumar issued a press release stating that as soon as the information was received from the victim, considering the seriousness of the case, a special team was formed under the leadership of Bodh Gaya SDPO Saurabh Jaiswal. On the basis of CCTV footage and other evidence, the team identified and arrested both the accused within just two hours. FSL team has also been sent to collect evidence at the scene of the incident.

Gaya City SP Ramanand Kumar Kaushal said that during interrogation, the answers of the accused were not satisfactory, after which the victim also identified them. An FIR has been registered in this case at Bodh Gaya police station and the police is taking further action. The SSP has assured that the charge sheet will be filed in this case as soon as possible and the culprits will be given the harshest punishment through speedy trial.
