Suspicion arose due to his behaviour in the SP office

The incident is from the city police station area of ​​Araria. According to the police, Ranveer Kumar (32), a resident of Singheshwar police station area of ​​Madhepura district, had reached the Araria SP office wearing a police uniform to plead a woman's case. The real policemen present there got suspicious after seeing his manner of wearing the uniform and his gestures. The policemen immediately informed the city police station in-charge Manish Kumar Rajak about this. As soon as he came out of the office, the police stopped him. When he was asked questions about the working of the police and senior officers, he started looking around and his secret was revealed.

Failed in 2018, caught in 2024

On strict interrogation, the accused narrated a filmy story. He told that he had given the sub-inspector recruitment exam in the year 2018, but he had failed. To save his respect in the society and family, he lied that he had been selected. In the joy of this 'success', the family members got him married with great pomp. The in-laws were also very happy to have a sub-inspector son-in-law. To avoid suspicion from the family, he used to live in different districts like Purnia and Katihar so that everyone would think that his posting was changing.

The wife used to cook food, the husband used to go on 'fake' duty

Ranveer's wife did not know even after 5 years of marriage that her husband was not a policeman. He was currently living with his wife and 4 year old child in Goriyari, Forbesganj, Araria. Every morning his wife used to prepare food for him and he used to leave the house wearing the uniform. Actually, he used to cheat people in rural areas by showing off his police power and in the name of getting work done in police stations. The police have recovered a fake pistol and uniform from him.
